Salt Fire Chile was born out of a lifelong love for bold flavors, elevated techniques, and the kind of food that brings people together. Behind the window is Tyler Althar — owner, self-taught chef, and the heart of Salt Fire Chile.

Tyler spent his entire career in business operations and logistics, but it was always clear to those around him that his true passion lived in the kitchen. Known among family and friends as the chef of the group, Tyler honed his skills over the years not in culinary school, but through dedication, curiosity, and countless hours experimenting with fresh ingredients and bold flavors.

In 2025, Tyler took a leap of faith and made his dream a reality — leaving behind the corporate world to pursue cooking full time. With Salt Fire Chile, he’s bringing his vision to life: fun, fresh, and flavor-forward dishes rooted in elevated cooking techniques.

When he’s not cooking up something delicious, you’ll find Tyler exploring the outdoors — snowboarding, hiking, fishing, hunting, or camping in the family campervan. He’s also a proud husband and new dad to a baby girl who has quickly become the center of his world.
